SOAR with the Birds
Saturday, February 20, 10:00-11:30 am
at the museum’s visitor center, 1906 Calder Avenue at Third Street, Beaumont.
View up close and personal 4 raptor birds: a great horned owl, an American kestrel, a screech owl, and a crested caracara.
A representative from the non-profit organization Save Our American Raptors (SOAR) will talk about birds of prey, their habitats, and their habits. She will discuss how rehabilitated birds are released back into the wild, what is being done to protect them, and how they are studied in the wild.
Everyone is invited. Families are especially invited to the program because museum educator Carol Cuccio will talk about the importance of birds in gardening and she will announce the 2010 Children’s programming schedule.
Not to be missed! Free to attend.
