The American Woodcock struts, spirals into the sky, hovers whirring and twittering, then zigzags down to where he started and begins again. Hopefully, the wild gyrations of this odd-looking shorebird will impress the female judges. Come watch the reclusive woodcock make a spectacle of himself during his twilight courtship dance at Long Pasture.
