John F. Levin’s SNOWBIRDS is the October reading from the Playwrights’ Lab. The reading will be followed by discussion with the playwright, director, and the actors so that the audience can express opinions and ask questions. Hal Gelb will direct the play that tells the story of a university professor and her editor husband who rent an RV and join a caravan of ‘snowbirds’ as they cross the border and make their way into Mexico. Their companions make this journey every year nd have an organization of sorts. They, however, are neophytes.
Playwrights' Lab is the new play development program of 142 Throckmorton Theatre. The Lab offers readings of full-length plays by Lab members six times a year as well as the Writers with Attitude festival in February and special programs with students.
Playwrights’ Lab is partially supported by a grant from the Marin Arts Council and by 142 Throckmorton Theatre.
