John F. Levin’s SNOWBIRDS is the October reading from the Playwrights’ Lab. The reading will be followed by discussion with the playwright, director, and the actors so that the audience can express opinions and ask questions. Hal Gelb will direct.
Synopsis
A couple of Berkeley academics join an RV Caravan of snowbirds for a winter vacation trip to Mexico. Then questions of personal commitment, past and present identities surface...they encounter a Federal police road block and run into an inspector with a suspicious mind....

Playwrights' Lab is the new play development program of 142 Throckmorton Theatre. The Lab offers readings of full-length plays by Lab members six times a year as well as the Writers with Attitude festival in February and special programs with students.
