Called "our erotica king" by San Francisco magazine, Simon Sheppard is the author of the books In Deep: Erotic Stories; Hotter Than Hell and Other Stories; Kinkorama: Dispatches From the Front Lines of Perversion; and Sex Parties 101, and is currently wrapping up editing Homosex: 60 Years of Gay Erotica. His work has also appeared in over 200 books, including many editions of Best Gay Erotica and The Best American Erotica, and he writes the syndicated column "Sex Talk." Hotter Than Hell won the Erotic Authors' Association award for collection of the year, and the title story of In Deep was a runner-up for the Rauxa Prize for erotic fiction.
