Often hailed as one of the great musical pairings in all Jamaican music, the partnership of drummer Sly Dunbar and bassist Robbie Shakespeare built the foundation of the modern dub, reggae, and dancehall worlds. Their rhythms have been the backbone of songs too numerous to count, with upwards of 20,000 tracks cut between them over the course of decades. Along with their own albums, they have recorded with Grace Jones, Bob Dylan, Robert Palmer, the Rolling Stones, Herbie Hancock and more.
