Slint was formed in 1985 and recorded their debut album, “Tweez”, with Steve Albini two years later. In 1990, Slint recorded the landmark “Spiderland” album. This release, in particular, became an independent music touchstone, loved and admired by hundreds of thousands of fans and emulated by a generation of musicians. The following year, the year in which “Spiderland” was issued by Touch and Go, Slint broke up. The band played a few reunion shows in 2005, and continue to play the occasional one-off show.

Dude, how come Brian Paulson never gets any props for recording "Spiderland?" Everyone always mentions Steve Albini, who didn't even record that album, but nothing about the guy who actually did it... he's gone on to work on records by Beck, Superchunk, Wilco, Arcwelder, etc. http://www.indyweek.com/gyrobase/Content?oid=oid%3A23657
