Slavyanka takes its name from the Russian River, known to Russian settlers in Northern California as Slavyanka River. The group was formed in 1979 and has been keeping the choral traditions of Russia and Eastern Europe alive ever since. The group performs throughout California and has toured in Russia and Europe.
