Skye Steele's Railroad Rodia September 9, 2012

Violinist Sky Steele's curiosity and the fiddle have led him on exploratory trips from the backstreets of Istanbul to the mangroves of Brazil and back home to work with musicians ranging from Anthony Braxton to Willie Nelson. With Railroad Rodia, Skye considers all of this territory to be in-bounds, and the band joyfully ranges "from thorny punk-jazz explosions to tottering dances and lyrical incantations."
