Sky Fest 09 May 15, 2009

Sky Fest 09 is a fund raiser for Camp Fun Shine, the only camp of it's kind in western North Carolina, serving people with developmental disabilities or other handicaps.

The camp is held each year in June for one week and is unique on several fronts. There is no paid staff. It is totally supported by volunteers. There is no consistent funding.
They are a 501(c)(3) non-profit group. And, additionally the camp is open to all and free to all.
The mission of camp Fun Shine is to provide educational and recreational opportunities for persons having developmental disabilities and handicaps. Their hope is that the
quality of life for all participants will be enhanced through fellowship with others in an atmosphere where everyone is loved, affirmed, and valued. The focus is on the individual's
gifts and abilities rather than their disabilities.

This is truly an exciting opportunity to enjoy a great outdoor event and know that money is being raised for campers who will be attending Camp Fun Shine.
Sponsorship is vital to make the hopes and dreams of these most deserving participants become realities. Grants, donations and fund raisers are needed to enable the
camp to be held.
Sky Fest 09 is committed to supporting Camp Fun Shine with this event. Our goal of $10,000 dollars is lofty but doable.You can be part of this in several different ways:

1) You can be a vendor with food, arts, crafts, business or other specialty items for sale.
2) You can sign up as a commercial sponsor.
3) You can take a Hot Air Balloon ride.
4) My favorite. Make a parachute jump. You know you always wanted to do it. Now you can... right in your own backyard and help a very worthwhile cause!
