For centuries artists have studied existing artworks through sketching exercises, and the Columbia Museum of Art is an excellent resource for today's artists. Sketching stools are available upon request, and sketching in pencil, felt tip, crayon, pastel and charcoal is permitted in the galleries. Sketching materials are available for purchase in the Museum Shop. Please check in at the admission desk to sketch in the galleries.
