This is part of the 29th Worldwide Sketchcrawl, where artists (or anyone who likes to sketch!) in all parts of the world participate in drawing marathons. The idea is to draw or paint the world around you, moving from one location to another. The length of time is optional, and the media ranges from pencil to ink to watercolor to colored pencil (media must be extremely portable).

Because the Naples sketchcrawl initiators (Jeanette Atkinson and I) are nature oriented, we plan to start at Freedom Park and draw outside – probably landscapes, plants, animals, and so on. Please note: this shouldn’t limit anyone else’s subjects! Feel free to sketch people, architecture, cars, whatever you like.

The idea is to join with like-minded people for inspiration, motivation, and interpretation. We don’t know yet which locations will be next; we’d like to visit the Naples Botanical Garden, but they charge an admission for non-members, so that may not be feasible for everyone. There is no charge to visit Freedom Park.
