Lawyers on a religious crusade, homeless drug addicts with secret identities and a despotic anthropomorphic kitchen appliance are the tent poles that support Thunderbird Theatre's 2007 stage comedic offering. Committed to original comedic works, Thunderbird presents "Serve by Expiration" - a new sketch comedy universe where social apathy is used for comedic fury, relationships are examined under a harsh light and pandas are victims of wanton character assassination.
The THUNDERBIRD THEATRE COMPANY has been producing original comedies in San Francisco for over nine years. Considered, "the gateway drug to theatre," the Thunderbird strives to encourage audiences and artists alike to explore comedy in ways different from more traditional or established theatre.
"Serve by Expiration" is written by Sang S. Kim, a previous contributor to Thunderbird's "The Las Vega-Nauts" and "Night of Terror". Mr. Kim has been creating sketch comedy in NYC for 5 years and has been both hailed by the Village Voice as "relentlessly funny" and "satiric". He is also proud to be called both "hard edged and envelope-pushing" as well as "socially irresponsible" by New York Theater Experience.
