Sixth Annual Champagne & Canapes Wine Dinner December 14, 2010

Champagne is the wine of celebration – launching ships, toasting weddings, and marking special moments. It is also probably one of the most misused wine words. Technically, for a sparkling wine to be called Champagne, it must come from the Champagne region in Northern France.

Most people love French Champagne, but it’s pricey. We have selected a Champagne, and eight additional sparkling wines from outside the Champagne region to kick off winter. It’s party and get-together time again as we countdown 2010 to New Year’s Eve. Whether you are entertaining in your home, or need some bubbly for hostess gifts, you are sure to find some crowd-pleasers tonight.

We are pleased to present Jerry Danalchak of Vintage Wine Distributor with a number of sparkling wines, specially paired with an hors d’ouevre menu from Grovewood’s award-winning kitchen. A complimentary recipe book of the dishes served (but adapted for the home kitchen) will be presented.
