Sister Mary Ignatius is giving a lecture explaining to the audience the basic tenets of Catholicism. She explains, sometimes with impatience, about the Immaculate Conception and tells us what sins will send you to hell. She is assisted by her favorite student, seven-year-old Thomas, occasionally asking him catechism questions and rewarding him a cookie for each right answer. Her lecture is interrupted midway by four ex-students who have little positive to say about how a Catholic education has impacted their lives. Sister Mary is forced to teach a lesson they will never forget!
Nancy Thomas stars in the role of Sister Mary Ignatius with Jamison Ingram as Thomas. Rounding out the cast is Mark Shonsey as Gary, Kelly Reeves as Diane, Ellie Fotaki as Philomena and Sam Gilstrap as Aloysius.
''Sister Mary Ignatius,'' is both the most consistently clever and deeply felt work yet by the author of ''A History of the American Film'' and ''Beyond Therapy.'' – Frank Rich, New York Times
