Sister Carol, born Carole East, is well-known in Jamaica as a top entertainer. She has been called the "Black Cinderella" and "Mother Culture" and has led the way for women in reggae. Her music is rich with cultural heritage and infused with a vital social consciousness that permeates every aspect of life. In 1999, Tuff Gong, the label started by reggae icon Bob Marley, released Sister Carol's 'Isis-the Orginal Womb-man.' She has over eight albums, dozens of singles and a Grammy nomination to her name.
