This week enjoy dinner at Elettaria:
One of CitySearch's Top 10 New York Restaurants of 2008
"A “welcome change”, this “trendy” Village newcomer with an “open kitchen” spices up its “terrific” New American lineup with a “hint of India”; the rustic room’s “close seating” has everyone “rubbing elbows”, but with “amazing mixology” and “sweet” service, surveyors sense a “hit.”" - Zagat.com
"Chef-owner Akhtar Nawab serves pared down dishes made from seasonal ingredients imbued with American and Indian flavors. The crab meat rasala is a fine example of this savory melting pot: soft gnocchi, tumeric-onion soubise, basil seeds and fried herbs. Buttery fluke is served on a bed of chewy tapioca, fingerling potatoes and pea leaves with aromatic coconut. For something more daring, try the wild boar with marrow, cumin, orange and vermicelli. Echoing the simple elegance of the menu is the refined rustic interior---three rows of individual tables, with a dark plank floor and ceiling. The narrow dining room is enhanced by mirrors, shimmery curtains and the bright stainless steel prep kitchen that illuminates one end of the otherwise dim room. And what would the meal be without the requisite classy cocktail? Again we find a mix of Americana and the land that gave us Bollywood. Forget the Shirley Temple and go straight for the Ginger Rogers: a mix of dark rum, Cognac, lemon, ginger and bitters. After that, there’s the “8th Wonder,” cardamom chai-infused Buffalo Trace with lemon, sweet vermouth and club soda." - Gayot.com

IS there only place for six people? I would think itd be more fun (and possibly more 'productive') if there were more people.
