Singer-Songwriter Open Mike September 4, 2006

The open mike starts at 8:00. The Gulls (tonight's feature act) go on at 9:30 for a 35-minute set plus encore. We get a lot of good players and songwriters every week. Come on down... all welcome. Cantab has inexpensive menu avail until 11pm. Our sound system hasn't caught on fire in weeks.

Mon, Sept 4th, 2006: The Gulls (as in “The Girls” with an Australian accent) are a young experimental acoustic quintet with guitar, viola, upright bass, tabla, vocal harmonies, and lead vocals by Australian Sophie Brous. Their all-original material is impossible to describe... let’s go with “experimental folk / rock / classical / traditional string band / jamband / pop with continually evolving eastern and western influences”. They knocked us all out at the open mike last May.
