Simplifly -Junior is a tailor made 2-days hands-on workshop for students to explore the fun and joy of building things that fly. Come explore and learn Aeromodelling, Build a variety of Gliders and Take away your planes to show your friends.

1xFoam Profile Fighter Plane(Sukhoi / F22)
1x60cm Balsa Glider (Chuck & Catapult)
1x40cm Balsa Glider with 4 different wings (To build at home, You can Build 4 different planes)

Workshop Outline

Day 1 - Session 1 - 10.00 - 11.00 hrs
Introduction to Aeromodelling
- Discuss Goals of Workshop
- A brief introduction about modelling Aeroplanes -Static and Flying models
- Explore different categories - Free Flight, Powered Free Flight, Control Line and Radio-Control Flying
- Materials in Aeromodelling

Day 1 - Session 2 - 11.00 - 15.30 hrs
Getting the Hands Dirty - Start with Building
- Start with Foam Template Cutting for Sukhoi 31 & F-22
- Lunch Break - 1 Hr - 12.30 - 13.30 hrs
- Construction of the Foam Models
- Discuss concepts of Balance and Center of Gravity affecting Flight
- Discuss techniques to Chuck
- Fly the Foam Models

Day 1 - Session 3 - 15.30 - 16.15 hrs
An Introduction to Flight
- What Makes Planes Fly?
- Overview of Flight Control Surfaces
- The Four Basic Forces of Flight
- Basic Terminologies
- How Planes can Maneuver

Day 1 - Session 4 - 16.15 - 17.00 hrs
An Introduction to Gliders
- What are Gliders? How do they Glide?
- Understanding the Wing and its Importance
- Types of Wing Construction
- Basic Glider Design - What goes where?
- Assignment Discussion - Glider Design with Guidelines and Constraints

Day 2 - Session 1 - 10.00 - 10.30 hrs
Analysis & Discussion of Design Assignment

Construction of Balsa Glider
- Balsa Wood Cutting Techniques
- Cutting Design on Balsa

- Sanding & Smoothing Techniques

- Fly the Gliders

Day 2 - Session 4 - 16.30 - 17.00 hrs
Demonstration of RC Flying
- Flying Demo of Basic Aerobatics, World War II Maneuvers, Pattern Flying & Stunt Flying
