A Geek Breakfast is a monthly community-driven meeting for local (and visiting) technology-minded people. Each month attendees congregate over bacon, eggs and plenty of coffee to discuss topics like social media, digital marketing, design, programming, and ways to better their communities.
We're going to shake things up a bit this time. We've got Jennifer Leggio (@mediaphyter) as our guest speaker. Jennifer will be speaking on using social media to build your professional brand. Especially useful if you're an independent or have recently been laid off (and who hasn't?).
Jennifer Leggio is passionate about all things social media, especially enterprise, security, privacy and reputation issues, and writes about these issues for ZDNet. She has been a communications professional for more than 14 years. She currently works at the cross-section of social media and security as director of strategic communications for Fortinet, a leading network security appliance vendor, where she manages digital media programs and security research communications. She has contributed to two books on social media, including "Twitter Means Business: How Microblogging can Help or Hurt Your Company" (2008) and "Enterprise 2.0: How Technology, E-Commerce and Web 2.0 Are Transforming Business Virtually" (2009). She was recently named one of Silicon Valley's top 40 under 40 by Silicon Valley Business Journal.
