Two objective journalists follow the story of Luna, an orca separated from its pod who starts interacting with humans on Vancouver Island. Tourists see a goofy friend, scientists see trouble, conservationists see a cause, and to the native tribe Luna is a chief’s spirit. Filled with stunning underwater photography, the journalist’s objectivity begins to bend as they spend more time with this gentle giant of the ocean. The film becomes a tale of family that transcends man and nature.
