Intimate & Interactive Open Mic was created to bring a sense of awareness around not only performance art but the art of media training in artists as well. Every headliner has been hand-selected to perform and answer questions from the audience in regards to their push and struggle to the top.

Intimate & Interactive proves that everyone has a story and Toronto has many unknown diamonds in the rough ready to take form.

I've put my all into this night and I hope to see all of you there.

SHOW STEPHENS BIO:

Jamaican born R&B sensation Stevie “Show” Stephens is no stranger when it comes to singing R&B. With a family background in singing, Show inherited the music from his father and first performed at the tender age of 7. Like most R&B greats Show started singing within the church.

Raised in Toronto, Canada, he honed his talents by singing at various talent shows and events across the city. He attended Winston Churchill Secondary school and eventually went on to study acting in college. Though he did well, Stephens’ pursuit of acting was cut short when he was discovered by a representative from an independent record label in the U.S., Onasys. In 2001, Stevens and two other young men formed a trio under Onasys called Selfish. Though the group garnered exposure, they were unable to make it past their differences like several groups formed without a history. Disappointed, yet determined, Stephens went back to Toronto to pursue a solo career.

A long time friend, Stanley Asante, who realized Show’s potential became his manager, and signed him as the protégé of his independent label, Get Rite Music Group. Under Stanley’s guidance, they recorded Stephens’ first solo EP and quickly distributed it all over Toronto. His single “So Amazing” has taken the Canadian radio stations by storm and continues to be requested by local fans. They are currently working on his solo album. Stephens credits inspirations like Stevie Wonder, James Brown, Michael Jackson, Tank, Usher and many other artists as instrumental in shaping his career and voice.

With a voice and image that can clearly compete with the league of current top R&B artists, Show Stephens is ready to take the world by storm with his music. And unlike other artists today, Stephens is also a talented writer. One of his works includes a song performed by Glenn Lewis, “Goodbye”.

Now Show is putting his own career in motion and wants to be recognized for the artist he is. For booking and feature info please hit up: getritemusicgroup@gmail.com
