Saturday February 19, 2011 - shOUT Queer Youth and Young Adult Theatre Workshop @ Toronto Parkdale Masaryk-Cowan Community Centre. With Jamie Ebbs, as creative director from 12:30 pm to 5:30 pm.
Jamie studies Devised Theatre at York University, now in his fourth year and periodically dabbles in playwriting when the impulse beckons. He will do anything once, unless it involves eating simple carbs or mathematics. He has performed at Buddies in Bad Times Theatre, Pridecab, Art Sexy events and is the host of MGTTV. Watch "It gets better" with Jamie
Jamie's program will focuses on directing, playwriting, and physical theatre (a hybrid of dance and theatre). He is working on getting a group of artists together (actors, dancers, directors, designers, playwrights, etc) for a day-long intensive workshop, exploring the boundaries of theatre. He hopes to work with specific sources that have strong resonance in the current queer community. There will be strong emphasis on discovery, play and the development of personal artistic tools/process.
Presenters names & biographies to be posted closer to event date.
