Banjara Academy, the Bangalore-based counselling services institution led by Dr Ali Khwaja, is starting a short-term (3-month), completely online ‘Certification in Student Counselling (CSC)’ course. The course is structured especially for those who who wish to learn the practical skills of counselling students and their parents and work as counsellors for students in schools. Teachers working in schools should find this a useful additional qualification not only to enhance their career prospects but also to be a better teacher and a better guide to their students.
Designed based on over 3 decades of experience in school counseling by experts, educationists and child psychologists, the course fulfills the requirements of various education boards in India and globally. On successful completion of the course, the student will be given the Certification in Student Counselling certificate by Banjara Academy, qualifying him/ her as Certified Student Counsellor.
The course fee is Rs. 9,450/- and group discounts can be offered if five or more teachers from a school enroll for a batch. The first batch starts 27 May 2011 and the course has limited seats to ensure personalized attention. A mentor is allotted to each student to guide him/her through the course.
The course duration is flexible, extending from 3 to 5 months. Anybody with a working knowledge of English and a desire to help and counsel school students can join. The course consists of 5 modules having 25 lessons in all, covering a wide range of topics dealing with counselling students. Evaluation is through 15 assignments and review of practical work done at schools only.
