Shoeshine - Film. Director: Vittorio De Sica. Shoeshine is a 1946 film and the first major work directed by Vittorio De Sica. It tells the story of two Shoe Shine Boys who get into trouble with the police after trying to find the money to buy a horse. Shoeshine belongs to the first round of neorealist films to be made in postwar Italy, and has come to be regarded as one of the quintessential films of the period. Co-ordinated by: IFTDA.
