Shivaya: Indian Classical Dance Performance by Rangoli Dance Company August 28, 2010

Traditional Indian dances and the premiere of a new work will be given by the Rangoli Dance Company (RDC) as it celebrates the 25th anniversary of the arts nonprofit, Rangoli Foundation. RDC creator and choreographer Malathi Iyengar joins her dance troupe in performance.

Included are classical Bharatanatyam dances, both newly choreographed and those from the RDC repertoire, plus Iyengar’s new work, the 75-minute long, Shivaya. A reception will be held after each performance.

Rangoli Dance Company is one of Los Angeles' noted classical, Indian dance companies. This performance features musicians, dancers and choreographers from India.
