This year, as our little studio turns 7, we would like to show our gratitude by giving back to the community. Our Winter Wonders show has always been a place to showcase not only our students, but those of our fellow teachers across South Louisiana as well as the teachers themselves. This year, our showcase will be held at the University Presbyterian Church's Fellowship Hall on Dalrymple Drive near State Street and all of our proceeds will go to the Baton Rouge Area Battered Women's Shelter. As one of our teachers so aptly wrote:
"We dancers gratefully dedicate our joy of dance and freedom of movement to our sisters whose joy and freedom are currently in jeopardy. Let this celebration remind all women (all people for that matter) of our true
magnificence."
And so it is to those we humbly dedicate our showcase.
Students and teachers from Baton Rouge, Hammond, Acadiana and New Orleans will all take part.
The studio will be open earlier in the day for those coming from out of town who wish to apply their make-up, relax, etc.
Doors for the venue will open at 6:30PM - No addmittance will be made prior to 6:30.
Show will start at 7:00PM and conclude by 9:00PM.
A Donation of $10 will be collected at the door - Children 12 and under will enter for free.
We encourage anyone who wishes to see truly superior, ecclectic, and a variety of both amatuer and professional bellydance to attend and feel free to bring guests or those whom you may like to educate on the subject of bellydance.
