This epic struggle of the Civil War is portrayed on the screen with a faith and fury seldom accomplished. In what many consider his greatest role, James Stewart plays a widowed Virginian who attempts to make his land an island, sheltered from the horrors of war. He successfully pits his bull-headed and almost arrogant belief in peace against all the forces attempting to draw him into the war, until it involves his own family. Film presented in the Jefferson Conference room.
