The daughter of percussionist Pete Escovedo, Sheila E.'s solo career took off under the auspices of Prince's writing and production skills, yielding a number top-10 hit for her 1984 debut, 'Sheila E. in the Glamorous Life.' Over the years, Sheila E. has played and recorded with a variety of stars including Santana, saxophonist Gerald Albright and Babyface.
