Los Angeles DJs Justin Warfield and Adam "Adam 12" Bravin are the the moody, Joy Division-inspired duo She Wants Revenge. Since forming in 2003, a combination of word of mouth, industry connections and select radio airplay provided them with enough exposure to snag a record deal with Geffen, resulting in a 2006 self-titled release that has drawn comparisons to Interpol, early Depeche Mode and the Bravery, as well as their aforementioned eternally depressed post-punk heroes from England. Monsters Are Waiting's lead singer Annalee Fery, along with band members Andrew Clark (bass, guitar), Eric Gardner (drums), and Jonathan Siebels (guitar, bass, vocals) make a dynamic , balanced sound out of sugary-sweet vocals and melancholy lyrics. Seattle's Pretty Girls Make Graves have been noted for their wide range of influences including early Fugazi, Rocket From the Crypt, X-Ray Spex and the Avengers, though direct comparisons aren't relevant. The band started in 2001, fusing together former members of nearly a dozen important groups including Death Wish Kids, Area 51 and Murder City Devils. The band released an EP on DimMak before releasing their debut album 'Good Health' in 2002. Their first full length, 'The New Romance' is the sound of one incredibly confident band capable of anything.
