The 2009 BMS pace car, valued at nearly $32,000, is the grand prize for the second running of the Sharky 500. The Sharky 500 is a race featuring up to 10,000 rubber sharks along Beaver Creek at Bristol Motor Speedway. Individuals can purchase a shark to be entered in the race (winner does not have to be present to win). The rubber sharks are now on sale at Bristol Motor Speedway. The race takes place on Beaver Creek between the Speedway and Bristol Dragway. The sharks are released simultaneously and the first one to the finish line will win its owner the BMS pace car.

When you click on the link you show for Bristol Motor Speedway, go to the very bottom of that screen and click on the "Bristol Motor Speedway"; when that screen comes up, there is a phone number for BMS: 423-689-6900. You will have to call that number to get ticket prices for the rubber sharks. I did it for you who are interested. The rubber sharks are $10 each and the actual rubber shark race begins at 1:30 PM Saturday the 17th of October. Today is the last day you can purchase those at the above number; they will cease selling them at 12 NOON today, Oct. 16th. I do not know if you can purchase them at the entrance on Saturday or not.
