Even though we only sold two Shanghaiist T-shirts, most people who attended the first Shanghaiist Happy Hour last month at Cotton's -- thanks again, Cotton! -- thought it was a huge success (except maybe for the waitress who got hit in the head with a beer stein and never came back to work ... seriously, is she OK?).
So, we're planning on making these Happy Hours regular things until the bars of Shanghai get sick of us. Another one of our favorite Shanghai bar owners -- Bob Boyce -- has welcomed our crowd (that means you) into one of his fine establishments. This advance notice should give you plenty of time to mark your calendars, if people really still mark calendars anymore:
What: Shanghaiist Happy Hour II (numbering these is going to get old really fast)
When: Friday, March 3, 6 pm-9 pm
Where: Blue Frog, 86 Tongren Lu, Tel: 6445-6634
Who: Anyone who shows up
Drink Specials: Two-for-the-price-of-one on all standard drinks. (Standard drinks are house wines, bottled and draft beers, house spirits -- vodka, gin, rum, whiskey -- with juices or sodas.)
Free Food: Nachos, marinated chicken skewers, spring rolls, etc.
Shooters: Blue Frog is famous for having a ridiculous number of shots available, and we have been warned by bar management that some might "appear" throughout the evening.
Music: We are supplying the music, but we haven't put a playlist together yet. Suggestions? Requests?
See you there.
