I'm visiting Shanghai with some friends for both business and pleasure. One guy is the founder of HotOrNot.com, the other guy is the business mind behind BitTorrent, and I'm one of the founders of WDDG. Right now some friends and I are discussing putting all our Shanghai event info on Upcoming. You're just a bit too early :) For now, the sites above have a lot of events on them. ShanghaiExpat is good for meeting people. Not sure what kind of events you're looking for... tech conventions, clubbing, shopping?
