Pop with a side of Blues and a side of Rock with Shana Morrison and Caledonia
Chanteuse Shana Morrison comes back to George’s to celebrate the release of her new CD, Joyride. The daughter of legendary rocker Van Morrison, with whom she's performed on several releases, Shana has carved out her own niche as an accomplished blues-rock singer and songwriter. She tours internationally and has opened for artists like Lyle Lovett, Joe Cocker, Michael MacDonald and Keb 'Mo.
Over the past 15 years, this Bay Area singer has carved out a name for herself with her combination of musical styles, which includes country, R&B, and jazz. With her charming voice and her charismatic stage presence, Shana Morrison has developed into a performer with strength and conviction and one who has a clear connection to American roots and soul. She combines the incredible range of her vocal capabilities with chic melodies blending genres for her self-declaration of a woman’s independence and confidence.
With her new CD, Joyride, Shana Morrison proves she is her own singer. Joyride brings together a fantastic group of musicians with performances by Jim Lauderdale, a three time Grammy winner as a special guest, David Hungate (Toto) on bass, John Willis (Shania Twain) on guitar, Mike Rojas (Patty Loveless) on keys and Craig Krampf (Melissa Etheridge) on drums.
