Jeanie Griffin, LPC, MFT, LCD, BRI II, Shamanic Practitioner and healer will present a workshop on shamanic healing. Jeanie is licensed in Texas and California. She offers individual, family and group psychotherapy.
The word Shaman comes from the Siberian word Tungus, meaning “one who sees in the dark”. A shaman or shamanic practitioner is said to be walking with one foot in the every day world and with the other in the spirit world. The evidence of shamans in various cultures dates back to over 40,000 years and some anthropologists say 100,000 years.
The workshop is on August 20, 2011 at 2 p.m. at the Unitarian Universalist Church of the North Hills. The church is located at 2359 West Ingomar Rd., Pittsburgh, PA 15237. Please call the church at 412-366-0244 to register. This workshop is free. (www.uucnh.org) Bring a drum or rattle if you have one as we will honor the spirits with sound as we gather.
