"Shadow Company" is an award-winning documentary that was used by Leonardo di Caprio as reseach for his role in "Blood Diamond" and has made waves from Hollywood to Senate for its balanced and entertaining perspective on the subject of "mercenaries/private soliders". The film's ground-breaking editing and broad spectrum of explaining the phenomenon of private armies (footage from popular TV shows, comic book schematics and a great original score, with narration from "The 300" star Gerard Butler, create a fresh and compelling method of learning how the rules of war have changed).
On Oct. 16, director Nick Bicanic recieved an invitation to testify in Senate on the subject of mercenaries and how they are affecting world policy on modern warfare - his film is applauded by both Amnesty and Blackwater so therefore held a very unique neutral ground position in his speech on the subject. Dvds are available with special features for those who cannot make the screenings and part of the profits go to the Cape Community Elementary School in Freetown, Sierra Leone where a part of the documentary was filmed.
