Shadow Circus Vaudeville Theatre, San Francisco’s only puppet hosted variety show, returns to the Climate Theater for two nights only; Friday and Saturday April 16th & 17th. We’ve got special guests Zoe Boekbinder (of Vermillion Lies), Bellydancer Jill Parker, contortionist Aviator and balloon artist Daniel Devices.
Framing our guest performances is a new puppet production by San Francisco puppetry troupe Shadow Circus Creature Theatre:
Shadow Circus presents: Avatarded – After seeing the movie ‘Avatar’ over thirty-seven times, Wesley Gefiltefisch finds himself depressed with his dreary and materialistic life. Despite the mockery of his friend Hatchet the Velociraptor, Wesley dreams of going to live on Pandora with the fictional cat people. When Wesley receives a mysterious message claiming to be from an alien visitor, is it a sign that his wish has finally come true? Find out in April at the next Shadow Circus show!
Combining folklore, mythology, Lovecraftian monsters and pop-culture parody, Shadow Circus Creature Theatre has been one of San Francisco’s most popular and outrageous puppetry troupes since it’s formation in 2000. Using life-sized latex and foam creatures Shadow Circus creates a world that is utterly fantastic, and yet hilariously similar to our own.
Please Note: While this is an all-ages event, the performance will contain explicit content which may not be appropriate for younger audience members. Tickets are incredibly limited, so advanced purchases are advised.
