Dr. Stanley B. Burns has been a collector of tens of thousands of photographic images for more than thirty years. With the help of curator Modupe Labode, over 100 of his photographs of African Americans were chosen to show images of celebration, tragedy and quiet joy, of work and family, of strength and perseverance, allowing us to peek into the eyes of people who helped make our nation.
This discussion will allow visitors the opportunity to learn first-hand from the collector and the curator about the photographs and how an exhibit comes to fruition.
