The San Francisco Film Society’s SF360 Film+Club, a monthly social screening series, returns on Wednesday, March 26, at 7:00 pm at Mezzanine (444 Jessie Street at Mint) with Ty Evans, Spike Jonze and Cory Weincheque’s Fully Flared, without question the most anticipated skateboarding video ever made.
After nearly four years in production, Fully Flared lives up to the hype, while marking codirector Spike Jonze’s return to the genre after his groundbreaker, Blind’s Video Days. With Fully Flared, featuring topnotch skateboarders, the opening shots alone—on an exploding obstacle course that requires a mix of deft technique and dazzling tricks to navigate—might be the most insanely weird and beautiful sequence ever. Further propelled by a soundtrack including Arcade Fire, Bad Brains, Calexico, Flaming Lips and David Bowie, it’s no stretch to call Fully Flared an awesome achievement.
Doors open at Mezzanine at 7:00 pm, program starts at 7:30 pm. Complimentary tasting of Pearl Vodka will begin at 7:00 pm. Tickets are $8 at the door or $5 if reserved in advance by emailing SF360@sffs.org. Must be 21+ to attend.
SF360 Film+Club is presented by the San Francisco Film Society, Mezzanine and Rehab, and is sponsored by SF Weekly and Pearl Vodka.
