SF Zine Fest 2008 July 19, 2008

Zine Fest is returning onJuly 19th and 20th! The San Francisco Zine Fest will be back for our seventhannual celebration of small press, zines, comics, and all things DIY in an evenbigger and better new location: The San Francisco County Fair Building, in GoldenGate Park. As always, the Zine Fest is free and open to the public! Over 100small-press and DIY creators will be selling, trading, and otherwise sharingtheir work with over a thousand attendees.

The Zine Fest serves as avital annual showcase of the diversity, vitality, and ongoing exuberance of thesmall-press movement. The exhibitors range from established small-presspublishing houses including RE/Search Publications, Manic D Press, AK Press, Sparkplug Comics, and Tugboat Press to first time self-publishers and creators. Writers, cartoonists, crafters, illustrators, printmakers, and all manner of artists will be in attendance, including Esther Pearl Watson, Mark Todd, Hellen Jo, and many more. While the majority of the exhibitors hailfrom the Bay Area, creators from across the West Coast and beyond will be represented.

Our special guests thisyear are Cindy Crabb (Doris) andVanessa Davis (Spaniel Rage). Q& A sessions will be held with both guests at the Zine Fest. Hands-on workshops, panels, and much more are scheduled throughout the weekend, along with readings and more throughout the week!
