Join an informal group ride along some of the areas beautiful and winding backroads, with varied scenery, great views and minimal traffic.
Thanks to global warming and good geography the weather should be perfect for a ride - sunny but cool. Rain cancels.
The idea is to meet at Coffee to the People at Haight and Masonic in San Francisco (http://www.yelp.com/biz/HZThElQfFLIqGc8ZVdRh7g) at 10:00AM, have a great ride South through the hills toward Santa Cruz and loop back to SF, back by ablout 2:00.
Planned route: Loop Twin Peaks overlook to Bosworth to 280, along Crystal Springs reservoir, 92 to Skyline, through the redwoods on Tunitas Creek West to the ocean, Stage Road South along pastures through San Gregorio to Pescadero, East on Pescadero Rd. (more redwoods) to 84, stop for viewing, food and posing at Alice's, and back on Skyline. This is about 100 miles, total time should be about 3 hours. (If you have been on a Doc Wong ride you know most of the route.) Gas is available at Pescadero and Alice's.
Interesting alternate routes are always possible.
I ride a BMW GS at a "moderate" pace. Ride your own ride and we'll regroup at the intersections. These are winding and narrow mountain roads, Tunitas creek is a bit rough. Basic riding experience anbd good safety gear including a full face helmet, armored jacket, pants and boots are recommended. If you really need to prove that you and your bike are the fastest and coolest please ride with a different group.
Disclaimer: Ride your own ride, you are responsible for your own safety. The poster explicitly disclaims any responsibility or liability for accidents, incidents, local fauna, conditions or anything else. Motorcycling is a very dangerous sport...
