Oi galera!
The holidays have come and gone, and it's a new year--did you resolve to practice your Portuguese more often, or meet others who have gone to/lived in Brasil? If so, let's get rolling with a straight up bate-papo night. Come out and meet others Portuguese speakers and get the best cup of coffee in town at Philz on 24th & Folsom! All levels welcome; I'll be there at 7, they close at 8:30.
Besides just hanging out, I also want to generate some ideas for future events. I look forward to doing Portuguese meetups at least twice a month, hopefully even once a week. There's enough people on the list that even if 5% show up each time, that's a good sized group for practice. Plus, I want to get dancing more. But I'll need your help--so come out and toss around some ideas too.
This year, be on the lookout for:
--more dancing (samba, forro, rock)
--brasilian cultural activities (capoeira, afro-brasilian dance)
--cooking nights
--movie nights
--more music swaps
--other Lusophone events (from portugal, mozambique, sao tome, etc)
--and of course, Carnaval!
Make sure to RSVP, and catch you soon!
Abraco,
Jason
