COMING UP - Weekend/weekday evening workshops and courses coming up for Beginner & Improver level stitchers and Pattern Cutting:

---Saturday Sewing Workshops at The Sewing Lounge--
Sat 23rd April and Sat 7th May 2011
The following workshops will run on both dates:
COMPLETE BEGINNER workshops 2 hours: 10-12noon Learn to use a sewing machine: threading up, stitch types, zigzag edges, troubleshooting tips, unpicking, perfect seams. (content is the same as Week 1 of our beginner course programme)
Then you can continue your day on the Improver workshop to practise your new skills by making a cushion cover or bag.
IMPROVER workshops 4 hours: 1-5pm Make our lovely cushion cover or bag if you’re quite new to sewing or make clothes from commercial patterns or work on any sewing project you wish if you’ve made a couple basic things before. Come to both Saturdays or just one.
Beginner wshops £16 (or £12 when you book with 1 or more Improver workshops)
Improver wshops £29 each (or £25 each when you book both Sat afternoons)

--Thursdays: 4 or 8 week Sewing course for Complete Beginners and Improvers---
From 7th April 7-9pm at The Sewing Lounge, Church Road, Hove
BEGINNERS Part 1: Learn to use a sewing machine, make a bag and matching purse to practise your new skills! - April 7th, 14th, 21st, 28th
IMPROVERS Part 2: Make a gorgeous item of clothing to wear! - May 5th, 12th, 19th, 26th
You can just book Part 1 or just Part 2 for 4 weeks for £48 OR book the full 8 week course (Part 1 & 2) for £96

---Tuesdays: Beginners AND Improvers/Intermediate mixed classes---
Every TUESDAY evening 7 - 9pm - spaces from 17th May at The Painting Pottery Cafe, North Rd, North Laine, Brighton
Learn to sew following our beginner programme or continue your sewing as an Improver/Intermediate. We’re booking now to start on 17th May or any Tues from then on. You can book any dates you like, not necessarily consecutive.
£12 each for 6 + classes, £13.50 each for 3-5 classes, £15 each for 1-2 classes

---Pattern Cutting course for Beginners---
8 Thursdays from May 5th 2011 7-9.30pm at The Werks, Church Road, Hove
Learn to make perfect fitting clothing patterns by making the pattern for an original skirt to your OWN DESIGN and measurements... then use the same techniques at home to create your own trousers, dresses, tops etc.
This is for people who have made at least one item of clothing before (from a commercial pattern). £130 for 8 weeks - advance booking. Split payment options available on request.

STITCH FRIDAYS - at The Sewing Lounge, Hove
Need to dedicate some time to a sewing project, borrow a swing machine or overlocker or get help with fitting?
On Friday's 2-5pm we offer independent working - £5 for an hour or £10 for 3 hours, and you get 5 mins expert help plus tea and biscuits thrown in!
