Do you enjoy speaking in front of your peers? Can you persuade others with your words? Have you been waiting for the chance to tell everyone what you really think? In this fun, interactive workshop you will develop the ability to speak clearly and confidently on a range of topics. Participants will learn how to create basic arguments, have the opportunity to get on the "soapbox" to vent on important issues, and even participate in a mock trial. The skills developed in this workshop can be applied to public speaking and debating activities. No previous experience with public speaking or debating is required but a willingness to speak in front of an audience, and advanced writing and reading skills, would be an advantage. This course is suitable for students in Years 1 and 2. Details of this event may be subject to change. Please visit http://cce.sydney.edu.au/course/sesp for more information or to register.
