Brothers Sérgio and Odair Assad were born in Brazil but their ancestral roots are in Lebanon and the recent success of Sérgio’s work, “Tahhiya Il Oussilina,” inspired them to delve further into their musical heritage. Clarice Assad, Jamey Haddad and Christiane Karam join them in exploring the rhythmic motifs that tie Middle Eastern music to the music of Brazil. The concert will include new music by Sérgio and Clarice, with text from modern and ancient Lebanese work.
