The Mayborn Museum Complex is proud to present a Sensational Saturday of masterful storytelling! Three members of the Bluebonnet Scops Storytelling Guild and two storytellers from the McLennan County and Spring Valley Elementary Libraries will demonstrate their talent throughout the museum. In addition to the readings, Baylor professor and puppeteer Rick Strot will perform entertaining puppet shows in the SBC Theater. Storytelling programs will occur every 30 minutes, with the first round of stories beginning at 10:30am and ending at 12:30pm. The second round begins at 2:00pm and lasts until 4:00pm. Sara Simms will perform in the Pioneers Room, Glenda Nelson in the Weather Room, Liz McDaniel in the Native Americans Room, Vivian Rutherford in the People of the World Room, and Beth Hair in the Sound Room. You may visit the storytellers in any order that you choose. They will read stories for about 20 minutes followed by a 10 minute break to change rooms.
Rick Strot will perform two puppet shows for your enjoyment in the SBC Theater. Each show is 30 minutes and you can catch him at 1:00pm and again at 4:00pm. We have a large selection of puppets in our museum store if you want to add to your collection, or start a new one!
