The Oregon Museum of Science and Industry (OMSI) invites visitors ages 60+ to experience Senior Science Days, a new ongoing program designed just for seniors. During Senior Science Days, seniors can explore the latest OMSI featured exhibit, take in a lab demo, see an OMNIMAX film, or talk with experts about science and technology issues that affect their everyday lives, all in a child-free environment.
Senior Science Days will be held 10:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m. on Mondays when OMSI is closed to the general public and will feature the reduced price of $7 general admission and $4 for a noon OMNIMAX show. Museum admission is free for OMSI members. A special lunch menu will be available in the OMSI Market Café.
A group rate of $5 per person is available for groups of 12 or more. (Groups must register at least 14 days in advance at 503.797.4661 or register@omsi.edu)
The first Senior Science Days event will be on Monday, Oct. 6, and will feature the following:
* Exhibit: Designed to exercise the mind, OMSI's newest exhibit Mindbender Mansion is filled with brainteasers and games guaranteed to challenge and entertain.
* Lecture: What's Going To Happen To My TV Next February? Television is going digital in February 2009 and OMSI experts discuss what changes you may need to make so that your TV will still work! (11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.)
* Noon Movie: Wild Ocean http://www.wildoceanfilm.com/
Future Senior Science Days will be held on December 8, and in 2009 on February 2, and April 6.
