Discover the real life and times of the remarkable woman behind the legend-Betsy Ross as a wife, mother, seamstress and patriot. This fun and fascinating self-guided tour looks at the woman and the legend. Visitors choosing this option will spend about 25 minutes exploring the house at their own pace and getting all kinds of "inside" information about 18th century life, colonial Philadelphia and, of course, the real scoop on Betsy, herself. Younger visitors will enjoy the special children's version of the tour, which adds 14 minutes and includes fun, historical information geared towards younger visitors. Kids will love the historical treasure hunt and be amazed at the stories of how colonial children lived. In the less busy fall and winter months, an optional longer, in-depth version of the tour offers a look at Colonial architecture, the Quaker religion, the practice of apprenticing and more.
