Formed in 1983 to accompany Rubén Blades with a new sound and fresh spirit, Seis del Solar / Son del Solar combined the harmonies and electric keyboards of jazz fusion with the Latin percussion in a tight sextet.
The combined force of Blades' songs and the new sound brought this music to new audiences and to a more widespread recognition, including Blades' first two Grammy awards, for Scenes and Background.
