Second Annual Social Justice Social to benefit the Urban Assembly School for Law and Justice
Having such great schools in our neighborhood can make a parent forget how lucky we are to be offered such a high level of scholarship for our kids. Want to do a little extra good this holiday season as well as show your solidarity and commitment to education in NYC? Buy a ticket or two to the Social for Social Justice, a cocktail party to benefit the Urban Assembly School for Law and Justice (SLJ). Here's an amazing statistic: the kids at this Brooklyn public high school, which serves predominantly at risk students, are graduating and going on to college at twice the rate of their peers. The high school is being hailed as a model and its alumni are heading toward a college completion rate nearly four times the national average, which in certain parts of this city is a small miracle. The Social goes from 6:30pm to 8:30pm and you can RSVP (or donate) here.
